Hobbies

Keep up a hobby for three months — kites, calligraphy, story telling, snorkelling and more — and show the examiner how it is going.

  • Syllabus page 14

What you need to do

  1. Show a continuing interest and progress over at least three months in any non-sporting activity, for example: board games, calligraphy, composing, acting, story telling, advertising, making and flying kites, sailing, snorkeling, surfing etc.

The activity must not have a relationship with the activities of any other badges in this syllabus.

  2. Demonstrate to the examiner how you pursue your activity and what materials, equipment and background information you have used.
  3. Discuss with the examiner how you plan to develop your hobby in the future.
  4. For adventurous activities: tell and, if possible, show the examiner the safety rules you need to know for your activity.
