Rescue and resuscitation: summon help, tow a person 150 metres, throw a lifeline, and deal with fire, gas leaks and electric shock.

What you need to do

  1. Hold the Swimmer badge or pass its requirements.
  2. Be able to summon help in case of:

    1. Drowning person
    2. Fire — electrical, gas, and normal household fire
    3. Sick person on the road
    4. Accident
  3. Be able to rescue a person similar to his size from water and carry him for 150 meters.
  4. Explain the following methods of respiration:

    1. Holger Nielsen
    2. Schafer's
    3. Mouth to mouth
  5. Be able to throw a lifeline to a distance of 30 feet, explain the composition of a life line and what are the security measures in maintaining a life line.
  6. Know what symptoms you will look for after saving the life of the casualty, to report to the medical personnel.
  7. What are the basic rules for approaching a drowning person?
  8. Know how to deal with a gas leak in a house.
  9. Know how to save a person who has come into contact with a live electrical wire.
  10. Show methods of rescue used in the case of house fire, gas poisoning and a person on fire.
  11. Know what you have to do after you have saved a life, and where to inform.
  12. Know 4 methods, improvised or otherwise, of carrying an injured person.
